Privacy Policy

Idea Factory (theideafactory.xyz) is operated by Codeface Media LLC, a Texas limited liability company (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. We wrote it to describe what the product actually does, in plain language.

What we collect

• Idea submissions. When you run the free Startup Idea Reality Check or generate a report, we store the text you enter (your idea, buyer, workaround, and any context) so we can produce your report.
• Account details. If you create an account, we store your email address and your credit balance and usage.
• Anonymous visitor identifier. When you use the free reality check without an account, we set a single browser cookie so we can attach the reports you generate to your browser and limit automated abuse. See “Cookies” below.
• Payment records. When you buy credits or the Buyer Proof Kit, we store a record of the purchase (amount, date, status). We do not receive or store your card number.
• Basic usage events. We record a small number of first-party product events (for example, that a reality check was started) to understand how the product is used. We do not use third-party advertising or cross-site tracking scripts.

How we use your data

We use idea submissions to generate your reports and to run the pipeline that scores and ranks ideas. We use your email to send login links and, if you have an account, messages about your reports and purchases. We use payment records to fulfill purchases and keep accurate account balances. We use the anonymous visitor cookie and bot-protection challenge to keep the free tool available and prevent abuse.

We do not sell your personal data or your idea submissions.

Where your data is stored

Your data is stored in our own database (SQLite) on a server we operate. Your idea submissions and reports live there while your account or report exists.

Service providers we use

We rely on a small set of providers to run the service. Each receives only the data needed for its function:

• Resend sends our email, including the passwordless magic-link we use to log you in. Login is by email link only; we do not store passwords.
• Stripe processes card payments. Your card details are entered on Stripe and are never received or stored by us.
• Breez processes optional Bitcoin Lightning payments when you choose that method.
• Cloudflare Turnstile provides the bot-protection challenge on the free tool.
• Sentry receives error and performance telemetry so we can find and fix bugs.

Cookies

We use cookies that are necessary to run the service: a login session cookie once you are signed in, and, on the free reality check, a single httpOnly visitor cookie that lets us recognize your browser across visits and limit abuse. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

Data retention and deletion

We keep your idea submissions, reports, and account data for as long as your account or report exists. You can ask us to delete your data at any time by emailing admin@theideafactory.xyz, and we will remove it, except where we must keep limited records (such as payment records) to meet legal or accounting obligations.

Your choices

You can request a copy of the data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. To make any of these requests, email admin@theideafactory.xyz.

Children

Idea Factory is intended for adults building or evaluating businesses. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the product changes. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Material changes will be reflected here before they take effect.

Governing law

This policy is governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
